I have an older HP i7 2nd gen laptop with Intel integrated graphics and a Radeon 6700m card. I recently updated (via a fresh install) to Windows 10 version 1803, and I am not able to set the resolution to 1080 even though the graphics card is capable of it.

For a while now I haven't been using the Radeon card as I had issues with it, but the Intel card was working properly. Now though Windows update apparently installed the latest driver for the Intel 3000, but I am getting reduced resolutions. When I tried downloading an official Intel driver, my computer would randomly start with a black screen.

I noticed the post 'Intel HD Graphics 3000/2000 (Sandybridge) Windows 10 Graphics Driver support? I am on the latest build of Windows 10, (10240) and as we are all aware, Win 10 release date has come and gone. I upgraded to Windows 10 from my Windows 7 Pro 64 bit HP Probook 6560B which is running Intel CORE i5 HD Graphics 3000 (Sandybridge). Unfortunately even after calling Microsoft New Zealand 2 times and having a 3rd party technician spend over an hour trying to update my drivers we have all come to the conclusion that there is no driver for Sandybridge that works with the current version of Windows 10. We have uninstalled the Intel drivers several times and have let windows update bring in the latest version but so far we have had no success.

In device manager you can see that the intel drivers are disabled. Windows has stopped the device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) Essentially this leaves my laptop unusable as I cannot see anything on my screen at all. We know that the Windows 10 has been properly installed in every other way as we are able to login to the computer via Teamviewer and Logmein which I already had installed on the computer. If anyone else has had this issue and has found an intel driver that works I would be glad to learn from you. Hi, How about your problem now?
